Recent developments within the legal environment have created new challenges. The system is under pres- sure from a rise in the number of litigants representing themselves due to the demise of Legal Aid. Mean- while, new procedural changes and the establishment of the Family Court structure will continue to evolve and have a profound impact. Alongside this, the legal industry as a whole has been changing rapidly over recent years. Following the intro- duction of the Legal Services Act 2007, law firms have been able to offer a much broader range of services to their clients and also make these services much more affordable. This continues to drive competition in the industry. We’re also seeing an increase in the number of niche firms specialising solely in family law. As such, it is vital that firms such as ours differentiate themselves from their competitors in order to stay ahead. We view representing every client as an honour and responsibility. In addition to placing the client at the centre of the process, we support them with a superior level of client care. Communication is also a key feature of our service. We make sure we support clients in as many other ways as possible, including out-of-hours. More importantly, as a department within a much larger law firm, we can call on the expertise of colleagues in specialist fields such as property, corporate law, employment and Wills to name just a few. This makes our advice significantly more effective for clients. This has all led to consistently high levels of business through word-of-mouth recommendations.
