M&A awards Legal Awards 2015 29 LEGAL awards The legal industry, particularly in the area of dispute resolution, is at a critical defining moment due to the expansion of legal issues. In the case of international arbitration, the volume of international arbitrations are continually increasing, and a concurrent trend has been a noticeable expansion in the scope and number of issues being raised. Economic and political stakes have become higher as the broadened definition of what is arbitrable has led to new issues previously falling outside the scope of arbitration. As such our market is currently evolving, so we have to work hard to adapt to this. We feel we are redefining the game in the legal industry by incorporating innovative corporate growth strategies to resolve new issues. For example, in response to increasing practical chal- lenges in the arbitration space, what I have developed is the Dispute Innovation Practice, which essentially seeks to make disputes an innovative means of increas- ing corporate growth, rather than simply remaining as something to be resolved. This is done by newly introducing M&A technologies, strategies and methods into the space of arbitration. Newly discovered facts and evidence via corporate fact-finding methods that emerge in arbitrations can provide important keys that pave the way for commercial growth that can far exceed day to day processes to increase revenue. Looking towards the future, we intend to continue adapt- ing to these changes and growing as a company.
