It is involved in and around the community, dealing with various non-profit organisations to help raise funds for them through outright donations, and hosting fundraisers with portions of proceeds going to non- profit organisations. Kicking off the discussion, Jared explains how it feels to have been named as the Best Start- Up Craft Brewery in Midwestern USA, and what attributes he believes the company and team possess which have contributed to its success. “Norsemen, was started from the ground up with two we are excited to see our hard work recognised. Our first year of opening exceeded expectations which truly showed the need for additional craft breweries in our local market. We are owner operated which we feel is the greatest attribute leading to our success. We are very passionate about the craft beer industry and being involved in our community.” Regarding the approach the team takes when undertaking a new client or project, Jared tells us how he ensures right from the start that the outcome meets the needs of everyone involved. “The number one priority of our business is the quality of our beer. Being a microbrewery allows us the opportunity to source and use only the highest quality and freshest ingredients available. This helps ensure our finished product tastes and smells as best as possible.” Describing the start-up brewery, Jared comments on the facility’s ongoing strategy and what techniques the team employ to guarantee that they achieve excellence in customer service and the products they produce. “The craft beer business is about giving customers a higher quality, more tasteful product and fresher product that might not be available with the larger breweries. This also allows us to rotate and experiment with different type of beers which is important to customers and keeps them coming back into the taproom to try the next ‘new’ beer. “Importantly, our strategy is to continue to grow in our local market in the taproom and throughout the city. We listen to our customers and keep an eye out for opportunities that might rise, and the team also possesses long-term goals and plans for the brewery and taproom and over the course of the next few years will do things that help attract and retain customers who visit our taproom and event space.” Discussing the industry currently, there are many issues which the firm is having to embrace and turn into opportunities, with Jared explaining that the craft beer industry has seen impressive growth and it has been vital that breweries have been able to capitalise on this.
