Leading Adviser 2019

Acquisition International - Leading Adviser 2019 21 Acquisition I ternational - Issue 11 2019 7 Striving To Meet Long Term Objectives Ken said, “When I started my career at Arthur Andersen, I was lucky enough to have three mentors who significantly changed my mindset and made a lasting impression on the way I view dedication to clients and continuously improving the my skills. Rich Jeanneret, Dan Lasik, and John Woods were my managers with whom I worked many long hours in those initial years. They set a high standard for me then and, although I haven’t worked with them in a long time, they set an example I still try to follow. I hope I can have such an impact on the students I teach and mentor.” Robert Huggett, a professional with over 30 years of experience in foreign affairs and strategic planning with the U.S. government working with U.S. Ambassadors, U.S. Embassy Country Teams, and foreign dignitaries as an International Affairs Specialist, and a student in the University of South Florida’s Master of Science in Entrepreneurship in Applied Technologies program, said, “in my experience as a student, a graduate with a Master of Arts in Cross Cultural and Sustainable Business Practice from The American University of Paris, and in my professional experience, Ken and his firm provides real world global expertise, advice, and mentorship to students and clients of the firm, which enables them to enhance their strategic planning and monetize their ideas while mitigating many types of risk.” Dedication to client success, in both good times and bad, is a characteristic Acquisition International values in recognizing award winners. Tim Collins, the CEO and President of Caribbean Trading Company, a leading Caribbean products brand and retail company, endorsed Ken and his firm by saying, “Ken is almost always my first call when I’m evaluating strategy, seeking ways to grow my company or facing just about any kind of problem. We are based in Puerto Rico and after the devastation from the Hurricane Maria in 2017, we could easily have failed. Our locations had no electric power for about a year and our facilities were severely damaged. More importantly, our customer base in Puerto Rico was essentially gone for over a year and our ability to serve customers off-island was greatly impaired. I personally was forced to almost abandon the company to return to the United States for about six months due to medical reasons, since the healthcare facilities in Puerto Rico were substandard after the devastating hurricane. Ken stepped in immediately, taking over as interim President of my company in my absence, overseeing my management team and helping not only with creditors, but also in rebuilding the company. Now Caribbean Trading Company is not only back on its feet, but we have rebounded and growing as fast as ever now. Ken and his firm helped save the company.” Previously, Ken was the Managing Partner and Director of Corporate, International & Tax Services for a law firm with partners in Orlando and West Palm Beach, Florida. Alongside this, Ken has also served as the Chief Financial Officer for three international companies, where he structured equity and debt financing, and international transactions with suppliers, customers, and distributors. Having begun his career with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as an Audit Senior in the audit and advisory services practice, Ken then later served as a Senior Consultant in Ernst & Young’s real estate and financial services consulting practice. Ken was also the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Florida State University Business Review during law school, an academic journal focusing on business and legal issues that is currently a successful publication in its 20th year, housed at the Florida State University College of Law. Looking ahead to what the future holds, Kenneth and the team at The Entrepreneur Law Center, P.L. will continue to deliver an impeccable service to their clients, one which ensures that they not only meet their requirements but also surpasses their expectations.
