Established by Emir Pohan, an experienced dispute lawyer with a solid corporate background, the firm’s founding mission is to provide clients with the highest standard of legal services in an efficient manner with the use of information and technology. Emir has more than 15 years of experience being involved in many high-profile disputes including class actions and judicial reviews, and high-profile franchise transactions. He is well-known as his out-of-the box approach, and commercially focused solutions. He once served as the secretary-general of the Indonesian Franchise Association, the vice chairman of the franchise permanent committee at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN Indonesia), and the secretary of South-Jakarta Office of Indonesian Bar Association. The second one is that we always work very closely with the clients and always listen to their input, so most of the time we are able to deliver services which are aligned with the client’s needs.” He describes the company culture at Emir Pohan & Partners as “dynamic” with out-of-the-box thinking being widely encouraged. It proved a challenging time for the young boutique firm as it had to swiftly change its working habits to ensure the safety of staff and clients. However, fortunately, information technology is something that Emir and his practice have embraced wholeheartedly since inception, therefore the changes were not as difficult as initially expected.
