Kim has a passion for justice, with extensive experience in the field of commercial litigation, including breach of contract, business torts, shareholder disputes and class action defense to name but a few areas. Her expertise has led to her representing both the City of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department in multiple class actions alleging due process violations. These cases were resolved at a district court level, and involved matters that have been appealed and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court. Her pioneering genius, however, comes form her work in Illinois video gaming litigation. In a legal system that works by precedent, she has set the industry standard through her tireless work and advocacy. Her biggest success revolves around the enforceability of pre-licensure contracts between video terminal operators and establishments. Her success in this field led her to take on a case which included a temporary restraining order against an establishment on an agreement for future video gaming operations executed before the Illinois Video Gaming Act’s passage.
