38 Acquisition International - Influential Businesswoman Awards 2021 Most Influential Business Coach 2021 (Netherlands): Merle Mudde enowned business coach, Merle Mudde is geared towards helping entrepreneurs take back control of their lives and businesses in order for them to achieve big goals and dreams in peace. Passionate about entrepreneurship, Merle herself runs three businesses in just 20 hours a week, leaving her free to dedicate more time to being with her husband, Bart, son, Floris, as well as her friends, all whilst still continuing to develop personally. As well as being a business coach, Merle rents out more than 50 student rooms in three student cities through her company Holland Homestay, and she is an interior stylist for yachts and boats. On top of this, she is a speaker at events and she writes two books. And all in just two days a week. So how does she do it? “The most important thing I ask myself in everything I do is: does this give me energy? If the answer is no, I know it’s time to change things. In this way I look at the way we organise our time in a revolutionary way. Time is not the most important starting point here, but energy.” And it seems that energy is something Merle possesses in oodles! Because of her smart and creative way of working and the way she structures her companies, she and her husband are available full-time for her 1-year-old son. Merle automates, delegates and has her own view of female productivity that allows her to work extremely efficiently. Explaining that her enthusiasm is her biggest motivation in everything she does, it’s clear to see that Merle has bridged the gap between work and life to become a successful, and playful, multi-passionate businesswoman. “It sounds like a huge cliché – but life is really too short not to do what makes you happy,” Merle enthuses. “That is why I have set up my companies in such a way that I can provide for my livelihood and in the meantime have all the space to pursue my curiosity. Both as an entrepreneur, but also as a person.” And that’s exactly why Merle does what she does and excels at - she supports entrepreneurs in upgrading their business so that they too can live the life that makes them happy. Often an entrepreneur’s head is so full of ideas and everything that they want to achieve, as quickly as possible, that it’s easy to become bogged down. Structure in a business, as well as complete control R over life, appears nigh on possible to achieve and this is where Merle comes in. “Whether you are an entrepreneur or passionate about working for a company; you have to deal with it every day: how do I perform at my best,” she states. “I know exactly what you are doing because in the end we are all looking for that perfect balance.” Also an expert in cyclical productivity, Merle examines the role of the female biorhythm, something she describes as being to success. “The better you know your own body, the better you can perform and achieve the goals you had in mind,” she elaborates. “It is wonderful to know exactly how you really work, why you sometimes have a lot of energy, and sometimes not. Why you are full of inspiration today, which may be gone for a while tomorrow. We will make sure that your biorhythm no longer stands in your way!” With so much energy, enthusiasm and passion for life, there’s no denying that Merle is inspirational, with some calling her the female Tim Ferris.
