4 Acquisition International - 2021 Non-Profit Organisations Awards Jun21183 Most Transformational Climate Change & Sustainable Development NPO 2021 ENERGIES 2050 was created in 2001, first, as an international network gathering professionals and citizens sharing the certainty that our societies’ past and current development pathways were not a fatality and that a different future could be imagined and implemented bringing together all the goodwill committed for a just and united transition bringing shared prosperity with respect for natural resources. Since April 2011, ENERGIES 2050 now acts as a non-profit non-governmental organization implementing projects in more than 70 countries. he association is engaged at the international level in the fight against climate change, the implementation of a shared and sustainable development and the establishment of a more human, plural and united society, bringing peace and respectful of the common goods of humanity. The association brings together members and partners of more than 70 nationalities. ENERGIES 2050 vision is to set up a new, positive and inclusive, development model in order to transform constraints into opportunities for action. As a collective adventure in the quest for better ways of living together, ENERGIES 2050 is committed to the so called Just Transition. The association pleads for a systemic approach to development and Human Rights. The association and its network collaborate with international institutions, national and subnational governments, local authorities as well as multi-stakeholders coalitions, civil society organisations, public or private organisations in the development and implementation of strategies, programs of action and low carbon development projects with high innovation potential in the fields of mitigation, adaptation and resilience. Together we work according to a systemic and inclusive approach on transversal topics such as human rights; gender equality; protection of indigenous peoples and minorities; the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); the fight against climate change or the preservation of biodiversity. Mention will also be made of programs dedicated to the energy transition, the mobilization and deployment of climate finance, territorialisation, cities and the built environment, water or agriculture in addition to capacity building. ENERGIES 2050 breaks its activities down into five complementary areas: • Executing demonstrative and duplicable implementation projects along with technical studies and research actions to demonstrate and enhance opportunities to act. T • Organising or intervening in meetings and conferences to create opportunities for exchanges and discussions. • Publishing inspiring projects and research results to pool and share knowledge. • Educating, training and building capacities so that everyone can understand, know and act at its own level to tackle local and global challenges. • Communicating to the greatest number to inform, mobilise and federate the desire to act. ENERGIES 2050 is a recognised stakeholder in climate change from the UNFCCC negotiations to the development and implementation of strategies and actions programs at local, national and international levels. The NGO is well known for successfully introducing concrete mitigation and adaptation projects integrating gender issues with huge innovation potential and for deploying essential capacity-building programmes to support countries’ and stakeholder’s ownership to boost national and territorial excellence.
