2020 Cyber Security Awards
6 Acquisition International - Cyber Security Awards 2020 Identity Express does not limit the functionality deployed by organizations. Rather, an organization starts with Identity Express to achieve positive results quickly and then prioritizes what product features and integrations, which may not yet be incorporated into Identity Express configuration, to deploy next. The benefits to Identity Express are optimized IAM processes, complete functionality and efficient implementation. The Hitachi ID Systems services team delivers solutions using a defined deliverables / fixed-price engagement model. In order to deliver fixed-price services, project deliverables must be clearly defined. For small projects, this is done at the outset based on preliminary discussions. For larger projects, the engagement is broken down into a series of phases, each of which has a fixed price determined at its start. The first step in every Hitachi ID Systems services engagement is to perform detailed discovery. Hitachi ID Systems uses a standard process to deliver implementation services. Depending on the size and complexity of an engagement, they have some basic steps which they take. First of all, there is an initial workshop, to prioritize requirements and design alternatives. After that is a detailed discovery, focusing on required business processes and technology integrations. Hitachi ID Systems will use these to generate project documentation. There will be a solution design, yielding a technical design document which Acme, Inc. must review and approve. There will be a statement of work (SOW) which defines what Hitachi ID Systems will do, what Acme, Inc. will do, work pre-requisites, acceptance criteria and fees. Finally, Hitachi ID Systems will put together a project plan (GANTT chart). The next step is the installation and configuration work, which may be delivered on- site, via VPN or both. Typically on-site work represents up to 25% of total project billable time, with the remainder of work being performed from Hitachi ID Systems offices. Additionally, Hitachi ID Systems also offer testing and customer acceptance. This may include unit, stress or pilot tests, based on customer needs. Finally, they offer assistance with production migration, if and as required. Hitachi ID Systems uses a standard process to deliver implementation services. Organizations are trying to move everything to the cloud, but this strategy can sometimes conflict with governance obligations and risk tolerance. Users want to interact with everything through their phones. This can be especially challenging when the system or app in question is highly sensitive and remains behind firewalls on the private corporate network. No matter how complex the application, users expect it to look and feel like Facebook or an e-commerce web site. Hitachi ID Systems manage to stay on the very cutting-edge of technology. It all comes down to effective market research - if you can see it coming, you can build out products and services to meet the need. The market research conducted by Hitachi ID Systems is extensive and helps them stay at the forefront of the industry. Some of their methods include, active discussions with current customers, feedback from our implementation teams and from integrator partners, aggregating requirements from RFP and RFI documents the team receive from prospective customers, analyst reports, internal analysis of performance, usability or other challenges, Discussions on platforms such as LinkedIn, StackExchange and PeerLyst and finally the web sites, YouTube Channels and other venues where competitors communicate about their own capabilities and plans. They have a flat, informal and highly transparent organization. There is not a lot of formalism and there are not many layers of management. One way to encourage this is to ensure that managers do more than just manage teams, they get directly involved in the work that helps the business on a day to day basis. Another way this is encouraged is by having open offices - the only rooms are for meetings and nobody sits behind a door. Hitachi ID Systems grew up as a firm that makes solutions to manage credentials, then identities and most recently groups. They are now generalizing our solutions to manage the lifecycles of any object type -- and of multiple object types in a single product instance. For example, how about managing the lifecycles of VMs on on-premises hypervisors or IaaS instances? What about the lifecycles of contact objects in the CRM? These are just a couple of interesting examples of where IAM solutions can come into play to deliver innovative value.
