This has led to multiple efforts to decrease traffic related deaths, which have indeed been falling over the last few decades, although sadly recent data shows that the curve is flattening out. Persons killed in road accidents in 2022 increased in comparison to the previous year by some 3% according to the European Commission’s preliminary figures. Additionally, the issue of driving in wet conditions needs to be considered more fully. 19% of recorded victims were affected by adverse weather conditions, when not only is speed a critical factor, but also issues such as tyre wear, road conditions, and driver behaviour. Worldwide, even after a brief storm incidents are increased, but unfortunately the true impact is often still underestimated. This is owing to the fact that there is a distinct lack of official data on crashes related specifically to aquaplaning. Easyrain has a solution it is confident can dramatically reduce the numbers. It offers an innovative ecosystem of hardware, software, and cloud products to help improve road safety and calibrate ADAS and assisted/autonomous vehicles in poor grip conditions. This will help to reduce mortality in dangerous driving situations, and should promote Easyrain to the very forefront of the European strategy leading to the effective achievement of zero road fatalities by the middle of the century. Giovanni Blandina has always held a passion for motorsports, and has previously worked as Team Coordinator for the MotoGP team FB course, so he knows his way around the automotive market. Easyrain is poised to embrace the new market trends as the automotive industry experiences a digital transformation with widespread adoption of ADAS, assisted, and autonomous driving systems. It sees the future of transportation as being inextricably linked with V2V (vehicle-tovehicle), V2X (vehicle-to-everything) and Smart Cities technology, which is what drives the company to progress from hardware-oriented to a more comprehensive enterprise encompassing hardware, software, and cloud-based tech. The company’s clear focus on enhancing road safety in challenging conditions (such as snow, ice, rain) is what is leading it towards its cutting edge 5G and cloud-based technologies to develop its groundbreaking safety systems. The increasingly significant role technology is having on the automotive industry means it is crucial to be able to offer support systems that ensure reliability, even in situations such as driving on low-grip surfaces. Easyrain has developed technologies that meet the very highest of standards even in such demanding conditions, and it is ready to provide innovative solutions for a future as a benchmark player in the EU strategy for 2050.
