I would say that the main driver of this change is the ongoing campaign for gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. Companies are realising the strength of diversity. There’s greater acceptance of women working outside the home and pursuing ambitious career paths. This shift in cultural norms has encouraged more women to aspire to leadership roles in the corporate world.” As a woman of colour, Mary-Ann has faced many additional challenges, not least in facing the internalised doubt of being ‘good enough’ in a field that is predominantly white and male. “There is always the notion in the back of your mind – the concern of being accepted or good enough. However, over the years, I have been able to overcome this, by believing in who I am and what I am capable of, having been supported and encouraged by strong leaders, colleagues, and my family, I am now confident in my abilities and strengths. I have also been blessed to work in a company where they recognise and advocate for a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Rexall gives me, and many others, the platform to showcase my talent and invest in me. This has all contributed to the most confident version of myself I can be. The advice I will give to other women is to believe in themselves and their capabilities. Find ways to enhance their skills, and never give up, as Rome was not built in a day. Working hard and smart can certainly open doors and windows of opportunities.” With a company in full support of her abilities and expertise, Mary-Ann has spearheaded several ground-breaking initiatives within Rexall in the pursuit of enhancing efficiency and accuracy. “I have championed several groundbreaking initiatives aimed at enhancing workflow efficiency.
