Outside of Spain, Azora manages a portfolio of urban hotels in the main cities in Europe and US, such as New York, Berlin, or London. In residential, the company is one of the largest residential under rent managers in Spain with more than 11,000 homes throughout the main cities of Spain. In the commercial offices space, the company manages more than 186,000sqm in Madrid and Barcelona distributed in 26 buildings, as well as 100,000sqm in 8 office buildings in the main cities of Poland. Lastly, Azora invested in the student accommodation segment in Spain in 2011, date in which this asset class was considered an unknown asset class in Spain compared with the same market in UK. It was a very complex transaction which included the acquisition of the student accommodation operator, RESA, and 24 student accommodation assets with more than 6,600 beds, which were held within 17 prop-cos, with a wide variety of shareholders including institutional investors and private investors. Azora executed the acquisition of the operator RESA, and the acquisition of the assets was completed through Lazora, closed end fund managed by Azora. After completing the acquisitions Azora carried out the organization of the different prop-cos through various mergers, preparing thus the Student Accommodation platform from which to grow in the coming years Azora is one of the largest independent investment managers in Spain, specializing on real estate assets.
