12 Acquisition International - Issue 10 2021 to do so in the future because police, planners and governments have taken heed of Keith’s work, I express the utmost gratitude for his passion and willingness to share his wisdom.” Crowd Risk Analysis is now looking towards the future with plans to expand its range of courses and to use its online platform for additional course materials. It will continue offering one-to-one sessions, online webinars and forum discussions, as well as expand its Zoom-based international courses for police training. World-Leading Crowd Risk Analysis rowd Risk Analysis’ courses are designed to benefit anyone who is associated with planning, managing or policing places of public assembly. The unique combination of international consulting experience, expert witness experience, and decades of teaching experience sets the training provider apart from any competition. One of its courses is mandatory training for UK police, Public Event Commanders, via the College of Policing, and it has police courses (crowd safety and crowd risk analysis) running in the UK, USA, India and Australia. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Crowd Risk Analysis ran these courses in classrooms around the world, but they were moved online in 2020 with over 1,000 learners studying. During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Institute of Place Management approached Crowd Risk Analysis to develop a risk aware course for their BID (Business Improvement District) members. As the events industry (and hence the crowds) closed down during the pandemic, it found that police and security staff were shifting to managing socially distanced crowds. The risk assessment tools were developed for managing places of public assembly and crowded space, all applied to the new parameters for managing spaces (using the same tools, but different density values). Several of Crowd Risk Analysis’ MSc students around the world were engaged as advisors on public safety projects. Previous client, Graham M Sunderland QPM, MA only speaks highly of the research and training developed by Crowd Risk Analysis Director, Prof. Dr. G. Keith Still. He said, “The Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security, Charles Sturt University, Australia has delivered the Mid-Career Training Programme (Phase III) for over 10 years. As the Co-Director of the programme, aimed at Senior Indian Police Officers and held at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad, India, I needed someone who could teach the higher echelon of the Indian Police Service about the science behind crowd management. “Now the Indian Officers know a thing or two about dealing with crowds, or at least they have copious experience of doing so. Of course, experience and expertise are two very different things. Thankfully, several years ago, Professor Keith Still agreed to impart his phenomenal knowledge on dealing with crowds to the course and his presentation has since become a key feature. It is safe to say that Keith is one of, if not the world leader in defining the considerations relating to potential crowded places, planned or otherwise. “One can only speculate as to the thousands of lives that have been saved due to Keith’s work and not one of those individuals realises. On behalf of all those who have unwittingly survived and will continue C Crowd Risk Analysis Ltd develops and teaches crowd safety and crowd risk analysis eLearning programmes, available from level 3 (NVQ) through to level 7 (MSc). With over 30 years of consulting and teaching experience, the firm has been running courses around the world for over 25 years. Company: Crowd Risk Analysis Ltd Contact: Prof. Dr. G.
