[email protected] Bad Faith Litigator Secures Success! or the last twenty years, Rockwood & Noziska has made a name for itself as a law firm that stands up for parties who have been wronged by others. Focusing on complex civil litigation, particularly insurance coverage, bad faith and construction litigation, the team have made incredible strides for the industry. Much of this success is due to the hard work of Mr. Noziska, co-founder and specialist in this specific part of the industry. Mr. Noziska’s knowledge of bad faith and how it affects clients goes back a long away. As a third year lawyer, he was responsible for Thorsnes, Bartolotta & McGuire’s first bad faith insurance denial case. He obtained policy benefit prior to trial and winning punitive and emotional distress damages during trial all totaling $500,000.00. Since then, he has never looked back and his career has never been stronger. Since his first bad faith trial, he has learned how to tackle cases of any size in order to support clients. When Mr. Noziska was involved in the establishment of Rockwood & Noziska, he brought a specific mindset to the case that allowed the firm to thrive. This was the philosophy of Fewer Cases Bigger. In short, the team took on fewer cases in order to maximize the results for clients. Instead of assigning a single attorney to a case, the firm operates as a team to deliver the best possible results. This unique approach means that everyone involved in a case must understand the issues and the role that their particular role in the assignment plays, but it also opens the door to bold new ideas driven by fresh understanding of a case. Perhaps the best example of this collaborative approach can be found in the team’s largest case. This involved 95 different law firms, representing 55 defendants and co-defendants against us. Thanks F Insurers have a responsibility to their clients to be there when the worst happens. All too often, however, this is not the case. C. Brant Noziska, co-founder of Rockwood & Noziska LLP, has worked in this field for years. He has recently earned the title of Leading Bad Faith Insurance Coverage Attorney of the Year, California in Acquisition International’s Leading Adviser awards. We profile him and his firm to see why. to the tireless efforts of Mr. Noziska and his team, the case settled just north of 20 million dollars. The team’s track record is incredibly strong, and this is due to the fact that the team see a good settlement as better than a good trial verdict. Unlike the latter, a settlement provides certainty and finality both to the case, and for the client. That said, the Rockwood & Noziska team have a much higher standard for good settlements than many of the competition! Looking ahead, Mr. Noziska has seen the nature of cases change over the years. Recently, environmental concerns have moved to the forefront of the industry, and he is determined to expand on some of these cases. This will involve investing in the services offered by the team and becoming more specialist in the specific scientific nature of what is being done. Already, the team have become experts in water issues such as portable water chemistry and reservoir design because they affect tens of thousands of homes, and therefore tens of thousands of potential clients when the worst happens. Bad faith is one of the most difficult areas in which to litigate, and can have an extraordinary effect on those who have been wronged by it. Thanks to people like Mr. Noziska, they can find a voice that will not only be heard, but that will correct that wrong to the best of its ability. Focusing on complex civil litigation, particularly insurance coverage, bad faith and construction litigation, the team have made incredible strides for the industry. Much of this success is due to the hard work of Mr. Noziska, co-founder and specialist in this specific part of the industry.
