Recently, it was crowned Best Specialist Energy Law Firm 2018 – France in the Global Excellence Awards. fter beginning their careers in prestigious French and Anglo-American firms, Ravetto Associés’ founding partners chose to create a human-sized firm in order to bring their clients tailored advice and to meet their expectations in terms of expertise, responsiveness and availability. Specifically, Ravetto Associés focuses on the legal, regulatory, contractual, corporate and financial aspects of the electricity, gas, and heat production industries, and serves suppliers, producers, consumers, distributors, regulators, public corporations and local governments, banks and investment funds. The firm’s expertise also encompasses public business law, particularly public procurement law, and it represents the interests of local and national public authorities, as well as those of French and foreign corporate clients. Located near the Opéra, in the heart of Paris, Ravetto’ clients vary in profile, status, nationality, and size, which bear testimony to the firm’s reliability and adaptability. Ravetto Associés has a network of correspondent firms it has built through collaboration and overlap on common cases. The firm’s clients benefit from specialised counsel that is adapted to the local market, whilst Ravetto remains the sole interlocutor and manages the interaction with the lawyers in the relevant jurisdiction. The firm has a presence in Germany, South Africa and The Middle East. The team at Ravetto Associés is composed of fourteen dedicated lawyers, from all backgrounds, with Paul Ravetto, the firm’s founder, at the helm. Paul has completely and exclusively dedicated his entire practice to the field of energy (electricity, gas, and heating). Paul focuses on cases involving the implementation of national and European Community provisions relating to the liberalisation of the electricity and gas markets. In particular, he advises producers, providers, and industrial clients in their energy purchasing and sales contracts, as well as in matters of network access. Although his practice is principally focused on counsel, he also performs litigation (litigation before the administrative and commercial courts, and dispute resolution before the Standing Committee for Disputes and Sanctions of the French Energy Regulation Commission (CoRDiS-CRE)). Paul is also particularly involved in the legal, regulatory (permitting), and contractual aspects of the renewable energy (hydroelectric, wind, photovoltaic, and biomass) and cogeneration industries, where he provides counsel on project acquisition and development. Paul Ravetto is Vice President of the French Association of Energy Law (AFDEN), and regularly speaks at conferences, continuing education sessions, and at the university. Feeling Energised A
