A boutique law firm with several areas of specialism, the firm provides a high standard of legal services to domestic clients, foreign clients, multi -national companies, government entities, high profile individuals and also represented them as their attorneys in courts. One of the main practice areas of James and Partners Law Offices is dispute resolution and litigation and the firm has represented many high profile cases in the national level of Thailand. It has also represented the clients in several high dispute amount cases in national level and, in addition, it has established strong co-working relationships with other many other reputable law firms in the United States, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Mr.Nakrit Sawettanan has more than 36 years of experience in the practising areas of dispute resolution, litigation and corporate, in both the US and Thailand. In the UK he is both a solicitor and a barrister, as well as being a renowned advocate in the Civil Courts of Thailand. He received his LLB (Honors) in 1982, ranking at the top of his class at the faculty of law, Thammasat University in Thailand. In 1989, he graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with an LLM, and his legal career spans more than three decades in his chosen areas of specialism, including a four year stint with a law firm in the United States. In term of Thai Governmental positions, Mr.Nakrit had experiences in acting as advisor to Minister of Transportation and advisor to Minister of Agricultural and Co-operative Affairs of Thailand. At present Mr.Nakrit is an Ordinary Member of Thai Bar Association (Legal Education Institution); Member of Law Society of Thailand; Member of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He has appeared in the press and lawyer magazine as a role model for young lawyers. Mr. Sawettanan has achieved outstanding results for domestic and international clients in complex litigation and arbitration cases requiring English language skills. In the commercial field, under the name of his firm, he has worked together with a British-American law firm in securitisation deals and in reviewing various types of draft commercial agreements. He also had experience working jointly with an American firm in Chicago in relation to a sale of securities of a US Investment Fund. Previously he advised a law firm in New York on multiple jurisdiction claims and another law firm in Singapore on the matter of business laws of Thailand. In project finance matters he represented more than ten Thai lender banks, also liaising with another London law firm on behalf of foreign banks and investors. He had also represented foreign advisors in Thailand such as in the project of the newest and biggest International Airport which was Flughafen Munchen GMBH, a state enterprise of Germany that operated Munich Airport. Sole Survivor E Mr. Sawettanan has provided significant legal advice and opinion to various Thai Government Ministries, civil servants and judges and acted as legal counsel to Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the biggest waste water management project that worth more than Baht 23 Billion. In relation to maritime law cases he represented multinational companies such as the Greece vessel owner company that transported oil to and from Thailand. The co- ordination and supervision was also made from another client which is a reputable P&I Club in London.
