In 1962, Bob James set out to build a different kind of financial services firm – one that would focus on long-term planning instead of simply placing trades, one that would remain uncompromisingly moderate through market highs and lows, and one that would always put clients and the advisors who serve them first. And now, after more than 50 years of integrity, independence and innovation, Bob’s different kind of firm is one of the leading independent financial services companies in the United States. From humble beginnings, Raymond James has grown to become a well-respected multinational firm with distinct business units that serve a variety of clients, from individuals and small business owners to municipalities and major corporations. Trading on the New York Stock Exchange since 1983, Raymond James has been recognised nationally for its community support and corporate philanthropy. The company has been ranked as one of the best in the country in customer service, as a great place to work and as a national leader in support of the arts. In 2015, Westside Wealth Management joined Raymond James due to the fact that the firm’s truly independent culture and supportive infrastructure aligned with how Westside Wealth Management also operated. Seth Radow is the founder and leader of WestsideWealth Management of Raymond James. He is also portfolio manager, recognised for his development of globally diversified asset allocation models and globally diversified liquid alternative models. He is also recognised for his portfolio management work with Alternative Income solutions including Energy MLPs, Listed Private Equities, Global Infrastructure, Global Energy Infrastructure and Business Development Companies. Seth strives to deliver upon the promise of prudent risk management to the team’s clients each and every day. “At Westside Wealth Management of Raymond James, we have a desire to do better,” Seth explains. “We believe that to rise above the crowd, you have to think differently. That’s why we have a tenacious focus on providing a distinct advantage for the clients we serve, rather than repeating what others have already done well.” Seth began his career in financial services in 1984 while still in business school with a concentration in finance at the University of Nevada – Reno. Upon graduation, he moved directly into portfolio management Company: Raymond James Financial, Inc. A Positive Force R With a wide and unparalleled experience in tax, accounting and financial consulting, multinational and local banks and companies. for individuals and small institutions, which is still a specialty. He previously worked for such firms as UBS, Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, Oppenheimer and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette. Beyond meeting its clients’ ever-changing needs, Westside Wealth Management strives to proactively exceed expectations with its unique intellectual capital and client-first mentality. “You could say we’re a positive force to be reckoned with,” he laughs. “And we like it that way. We’re confident you will, too! That’s why we partnered with Raymond James, a company run by financial advisors with the primary objective to put clients first, quite the opposite of working for an investment bank that focuses first on selling its products.” As classically trained, intrinsic-value investors, Westside Wealth Management takes a more academically derived approach. “We believe true intellectual capital is valuable, which is why we find it imperative to research and select managers,” states Seth. “It’s the only way we’ve found to find managers who have track records of substantive performance above and beyond their respective benchmarks, with a degree of consistency over time, and who can perform with an impressive risk-to-reward ratio. “While no one can consistently predict the future with any degree of certainty or accuracy, we believe that prudence in the areas of asset allocation, risk management, manager selection and the implementation of intellectual capital does work.”
