Acquisition International - Issue 7 2019 7 Nov18981 Fellow graduates from Pepperdine University Law, Christopher Price and Craig Ashton, formed an alliance with the intention of becoming successful personal injury lawyers… And the rest, as they say, is history. shton & Price LLP Personal Injury Lawyers was founded in California in 1996 by Craig Ashton and Christopher A Price and has earned a reputation throughout the Sacramento region for providing responsive, aggressive and successful representation on behalf of people who have been injured by the negligence of others. In fact, since the practice began more than 20 years ago the firm has obtained more than $200 million in settlements and jury awards on behalf of people with many types of claims. Originally born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Craig Fontaine Ashton has been practicing personal injury law in the Sacramento area for more than 20 years. Mr. Ashton has been practicing personal injury law for more than 25 years. He is a graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law and the University of California, Berkeley. Before focusing on personal injury law, he was employed by the Department of Interior, with an emphasis in environmental law. Prior to founding Ashton and Price with his law partner, Mr. Ashton was an associate attorney for the Law Offices of Arnold Laub, in San Francisco, California. Mr. Ashton also clerked for Honorable Chief Judge Parlen McKenna, at the Department of the Interior in Washington D.C., with an emphasis on environmental law. Mr. Ashton has facilitated over $200 million in personal injury settlements, awards, and judgments over the course of his career. Mr. Ashton is a five-time Ironman triathlon finisher (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run), completing Ironman New Zealand (Lake Taupo) in 2011, Ironman Australia (Melbourne) in 2012, Ironman Mexico (Cabo San Lucas) in 2013, Ironman Mexico (Cozumel) in 2014 and Barcelona, Spain, 2015. He has also swum from Alcatraz to San Francisco four separate times- twice for charity supporting the SPCA thereby raising $5000.00 for this great cause. Interestingly enough, John Augustine Washington is Mr. Ashton’s grandfather (5th); John Augustine Washington was George Washington’s brother. This makes George Washington Mr. Ashton’s direct great uncle (5th). Company: Ashton & Price LLP Dynamic Duo A Christopher A. Price is an experienced litigator and trial attorney with more than 15 years of courtroom experience. Like Mr. Ashton, Mr. Price is also graduate of Pepperdine University Law. He has obtained judgments or settlements approaching $100 million in personal injury cases. Mr. Price graduated second in his high school class of over 700, and then did his undergraduate work at the University of California, at Los Angeles, majoring in Political Science and Business and graduating in 1989 in four years. After passing the California State Bar in 1992 on his first try, he went to work for his father’s reputable Orange County law firm, Sikora & Price, where he practiced principally business litigation. In 1996, Mr. Price moved to the Sacramento area and, with fellow Pepperdine School of Law graduate Craig Ashton, formed the law firm of Ashton & Price. Mr. Price has been a member in good standing of the California State Bar since 1992, and is admitted to practice before all of the Superior Courts of California and the California Supreme Court, as well all of the Federal District and Appellate Courts of the 9th Circuit. Ashton & Price LLP has been a part of the Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights and Orangevale business communities since 1996, and the firm’s attorneys have supported important community causes such as the Sacramento Children’s Home for many years.
