We are the only MIL 31032 QML approved PCB manufacturer in Asia, and are one among the 4-5 PCB manufacturers outside USA to be approved to QML. We are also the only Nadcap and AS9100 approved facility in India today. We cater directly or indirectly to almost all the major high reliability projects in India, including Indian space programmes.” When discussing examples of how the company has been successful, Sreekar highlights that the team has been systematically working on identifying and addressing various market requirements. One of the major gap identified was the need to improve technology. Planned investments were key to the success of the company. This along with the continued efforts towards operational optimisation has helped the company to stay ahead. “Business demands have been dynamic and at the same time, challenging. We identified technology improvement as our most critical aspect many years back. The PCB industry is highly investment intensive and we have been investing consistently for the last 5-7 years to meet the technology requirements. We have seen a phenomenal change PCB solutions …Unlimited M 1708AI22 in the technology being used for the aerospace and defence programmes in India. We have a state of the art facility now with laser direct imaging, laser drilling, X-ray drilling, via filling among many others, and approvals and certifications which no other PCB manufacturer has in India.” Sreekar describes the client base and the target customers. We have been able to meet the customer requirements and we see returning business among most of our clients. “Apart from the focus market segments, we also focus on quick turn supplies and special projects. We have a process development wing and have taken up many innovative projects for many critical requirements. Our clientele covers almost everybody related to defence and aerospace electronics in India. We also work with few of the major global defence electronics firms in Europe. We are also proud to be catering to some of the demanding requirements for CERN, Geneva.” In his concluding comments, Sreekar tells us about his staff and what role they play in the success of Micropack. The role played by the team sets the company up perfectly to build on its solid foundations and help it achieve its goals, as it looks to catapult itself to the top of the industry. “Within the company, we are a young 160-member team with a cumulative industry experience of more than 1000 years. We have a good mix of experience and youth, which helps us in having a good technical understanding of the customer requirements and control the process. This has been our strength which is guiding us in pursuing our objectives. It has been a great journey for us, especially for the last 12-13 years. “Looking ahead, we have addressed the technology gap to a large extent by investing systematically in the last five years. We are definitely one of the most technically competent team in India today in the PCB industry. We expect the Indian offset policy for defence to bring in more opportunities for us. Micropack are looking at more exposure to global requirements in the next 2-3 years and improve on our export share.” Company: Micropack Pvt Ltd Contact: V.
