Cegedim Acquisition of Activus
Cegedim, an innovative technology and services company, announces the acquisition of Activus, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of health and protection insurance software. This move is part of the Group’s strategy of making bolt-on acquisitions to expand its international positions.
It gives Cegedim Assurances, which is currently present in France and French-speaking African countries, access to new markets not only in the UK, but also in Ireland, the US, China, the Middle East, Far East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, where Activus generates 80% of its revenues. This deal also strengthens Cegedim Assurances’ software offering, adding products that are tailored to non-French-speaking markets and to the varied needs of international health insurance clients. In the context of the integration within Cegedim Assurances, the company’s three founders and main shareholders have chosen to continue pursuing their careers with the company.
Activus, founded in 1993, generated revenue of around €7 million in 2014. This acquisition will contribute positively to the Group’s margins and to its consolidated results starting in the second half of 2015. The deal was financed with internal financing. Immediately after issuing this press release, the Group’s quiet period will resume until its Q2 2015 revenue announcement on July 28.
