paysafecard Launches in New Zealand
paysafecard, the Vienna-based global market leader in prepaid online payment methods, and member of the international Skrill Group, continues its course of international expansion with its launch in New Zealand.
The product has already been available in Australia since 2013. The inclusion of the important market of New Zealand now adds a digital information society that exhibits strong internet and smartphone usage in comparison to other countries. This makes the conditions there ideal for prepaid solutions.
More than 87% of the 4.4 million inhabitants of New Zealand actively use the internet and the penetration of mobile devices is 100%. Markets home to similar conditions, in which paysafecard is already present, have shown through their rapid adoption of paysafecard that a strong demand for the prepaid payment method exists. Against this background, paysafecard expects New Zealand to respond with corresponding demand and market penetration.
Udo Müller, CEO of paysafecard, on the recent expansion step: “New Zealand is a digital information society. Based on experience, it is, therefore, particularly receptive to a fast and safe online payment method. For this reason, we view paysafecard as an attractive and long-awaited prepaid solution for customers. At the same time, we are delighted to be able to add New Zealand as the fortieth country to the paysafecard world map. It is a highly advanced national economy and digital pioneer. As an essential part of the digital world, paysafecard is ideally suited to such an environment and is, therefore, well placed to rapidly develop a strong position in the local market.”
