Schul International offers a range of premium quality joint sealants with a specialization in construction sealants/chemicals, metal fabrication, high tech automation and robotics.
Schul manufactures and supplies pre-compressed foam joint sealants. Some applications include products for passive house & net zero buildings. Many products meet the DIN and RAL standards. For commercial construction Schul has a market leading line of innovative, pre-compressed foam sealants, including acrylic pre-compressed joints sealants designed to be watertight without being coated with a liquid applied sealant.
Since 2002 all of the acrylic primary and secondary products sold by Schul, as well as the Airstop partition and sound seal, are a DIN 18542, BG1 tested, impregnated foam that has been independently re-tested at UL and passed ASTM E-84 – Flame Spread 0, Smoke Index 5.
Schul’s Firejoint products are also acrylic based that can serve as primary or secondary sealants and are UL listed 1, 2 & 3hr expansion joint systems that range from requiring as little as 2″ of depth up to 4″ while allowing sealing from 1/2″-6″ vertical joints with +/- 50% movement. Schul has UL listings for 3hr fire-ratings at +/- 50% movement, not just the 1 & 2hr ratings.
Schul’s UL listings do not require a surface coating of a UL listed intumescent sealant and most are available with or without the colored silicone bellows.
Schul participates in UL’s follow-up procedure with four unannounced site audits to verify there is no variance from the tested joints to the fire rated joints being shipped to customers.
The company, under the leadership of CEO and President Steve Robinson, is interested in acquisitions that compliment or extend the firm’s current product offerings. Of particular interest are construction product suppliers based in the EU to add to the firm’s growing global product group.
The firm also holds a strong track record with continuous product innovation and double digit growth in multiple industries.
In order to extend this the firm’s current focus is on aggressive expansion into global markets including manufacturing and distribution in Europe and distribution and representation in Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
The firm’s greatly expanded product portfolio of foam and mechanical systems, products that are not manufactured or sold in the US, are fuelling interest and growth in all new market areas. European supplied fire-rated foam systems are adding significantly to our global competitiveness and profitability due to elimination of exchange rate and reduced shipping expenses. Therefore Steve and his team expect immediate returns on the firm’s investments in Belgium and expect a significant amount of our future growth to be in their fire-rated and cover plate systems in the European and global markets.
Additionally the firm is heavily involved in supporting local STEM activities in public schools from K-12, and actively support the First Robotics Programs (USfirst.org) started by Dean Kamen.
Schul International acts as the major financial, and machine shop (Veloxion, Inc.), sponsor of local robotics programs including highly competitive FRC Team #3467 which made it to the equivalent of the Final Four in the FRC World Championships in 2014 (only the top 400 teams qualify out of 3000+ teams from around the world). Their dedication to this local sport highlights the firm’s commitment to supporting its local community.
Alongside these community based projects the firm also supports the construction industry, by continuing research and support in the area of the Peer to Patent model and Crowdsource Prior Art Patent Review to increase patent quality and support novel product innovation.
