Questro International announced the opening of a new office in Germany and the recruitment of Thorsten Schaus as their new TP Leader in Germany earlier this month. Thorsten will also assume a global mandate to grow the Financial Services transfer pricing offering within Questro.
Questro International was founded in October 2013 by an experienced team of ex-Big 4 transfer pricing professionals. Thorsten joins the firm after more than 10 years of Big 4 transfer pricing experience, most recently as a Tax Partner and EMEA FS TP Leader at KPMG in Germany where he was also a key member of the Global Steering Committee for FS TP.
Thorsten is a German Certified Tax Adviser and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) and Bachelor degree in banking (Bankfachwirt). Thorsten brings significant experience of over 10 years’ specialisation in the area of transfer pricing consulting with a focus on financial services clients. During his Big 4 career, he worked as operative as well as lead engagement Partner for a number of international banks, insurance companies, asset managers and real estate investors.
In addition, he has gained significant experience through direct involvement in M&A (Tax Due Diligence) as well as national and international tax planning assignments and treasury engagements for large corporates including inter-company cash pooling and financial guarantees. Prior to his Big 4 career, Thorsten was with a large German bank for over seven years.
Thorsten is recognized as a leading transfer pricing adviser in various publications has been recommended for his transfer pricing work by contemporaries in the German market. He is a contributor to publications on transfer pricing and speaks widely on the subject in Germany and Internationally.
