Welcome to the April issue of Acquisition International magazine. As always, we aim to be your monthly source for all of the latest news and features from across the corporate landscape.
It’s been a strange few weeks. I’m currently writing this from my makeshift home office, having shoved aside various knick-knacks, memorabilia, electronic gadgets, and semi-important piles of paperwork from the once rarely visited study. As we read about record-breaking unemployment levels in the US, I have to remind myself that I’m ‘one of the lucky ones’ who has the opportunity to work remotely. For others in my position, who perhaps never worked from home, this is the new normal, at least for the time being.
For as morose as the news has been in recent weeks, there are still stories of hope hidden amongst it all. Of challenges overcome, and of people coming together to help in whatever way they can. Despite the tough decisions that business owners, managers and directors are facing, there have been moments of extraordinary generosity and goodwill. Ultimately, people are stepping up to help others – and that’s important. It will help us recover from this, become stronger and be better that we were before.
For the time being, Acquisition International will continue as normal, showcasing the achievements of everyday businesses (and world-leading ones) as they overcome challenges of all sizes.
In the meantime, I hope you all stay safe.
