<p>Funcom is an independent developer and publisher of online games for PC and consoles. Funcom was publicly traded on the Oslo Stock Exchange from 2005 until 2020. Following a strategic turn-around and the most profitable years in Funcom history the company was acquired by Tencent, one of the largest media and technology firms in the world. Funcom’s biggest project at the time is a huge open world game in the Dune Universe, which has gained massive attention from the successful Hollywood movie that won 6 Oscars.</p>
<p>While Funcom’s headquarters is located in Oslo, Norway, the company also has development studios in the US, Portugal, Romania and Sweden. Today, over 300 people from more than 30 different nationalities work at Funcom.</p>
